Human Becoming
Human Becoming is a weekly podcast exploring what it means to be human, from shame and anger to healing and belonging. Hosted by Tumi Moloto, a non-binary, queer African healer, historian, and storyteller, it examines how personal experiences shape identity and story. The show encourages listeners to reconnect with themselves and move away from disconnection and collective trauma toward compassion and collective healing. It is an intimate journey through the host's own becoming, offered as a way for others to better understand their own humanity.

confessions of a love bomber
Send us Fan MailI am a love bomber. A narcissist. A gaslighter. A ghoster. A breadcrumber. In this episode, we discuss these overused terms and how they can be used to invoke the drama triangle (a model created by Stephen Karpman that needs a victim, perpetrator, and bystander in order to create exquisite drama), and how that can lead to a static, boring terrain that is no fun to date in.This episo

honouring love's ending
Send us Fan MailLove's ending is painful. Whether it's a friendship, a romantic relationship, a familial tie - and whether love ends through a physical or spiritual/psychological/energetic death, it's fucking painful. We don't have a lot of rituals and ceremonies in this society to honour the ending of Love - to honour our grief, our sadness, our pain, our anger, our confusion,

am I failure? and other questions I ask myself at night
Send us Fan MailThis episode is all about feeling like a failure. I feel like a failure very often, despite how much or how little I judge myself as doing, and I've come to realize that this is just another annoying side effect of growing up under capitalism. Oh well. In this episode, I speak about how I relate to this voice in my head, how it shows up NO MATTER what, and how ultimately I thi

the chaos of the creative path, and why showing up for our practices matters
Send us Fan MailI procrastinated SO much around the creation and uploading of this episode (very fitting, given the subject matter) but here it is. We become what we practice, and we are always practicing SOMETHING. In this episode, I speak about what it's

the path of desire
Send us Fan MailDesire is God's way of communicating their will for us. In this episode, I speak about what that means, wax lyrical about the divinity of our desires and name the systems of oppression that actively benefit from and DEVOTE energy towards removing us from our desires. These are some of the

humanizing the "enemy"

This is your invitation to arrive at this weekly healing session in a state of presence and bodyfulness, ready to listen to the feedback that

love in times of war
Send us Fan MailWe live in a time where so many humans are making choices out of fear. Fear, in many ways, is the antithesis to Love. In the presence of fear, and the separation and disconnection that it creates, Love does not find fertile grounds to plant its seeds. As we watch the unfolding conflict between Russia and Ukraine, this week's episode is an exploration of what it means to find a

I'm a bitch
Send us Fan MailI'm a bitch! It's one of the things I love most about myself. This episode is a valorization of the bitch, which I think is a refreshing substitute to the bitch-shaming that we're used to experiencing in society. But what is a bitch? Who is a bitch? What makes a bitch? And could you possibly be one (and could that be a good thing)? In the episode, I'll break dow

it's hard to be a slut
Send us Fan MailThis week's episode is an ode to the slut - and to the challenges of being one in the midst of our patriarchal world culture. I love being a slut, but sometimes it's hard! allowing myself to die
Send us Fan MailBlessed Samhain! This Human Becoming episode is being released at a very sacred time - on the festival day of Samhain and a day before this podcast turns one! In honour of this occasion, I am creating a space for collective release. What are you ready to let go of? This may be personal, ancestral or collective. I speak about the fears and resistances that I am ready to let go of, a

in the aftermath of shame
Send us Fan MailThis week's episode is a ride. We speak about one of my favourite topics - shame! Shame is an incredibly inhibiting - and human - force. It tells us that we are not good enough, that we are fundamentally bad in some way and that we are not worthy of love and connection because of some aspect of who we are. As a result, we stifle ourselves and disconnect from important parts of

the devil inside
Send us Fan MailThis is an episode about shame, and desire, and the parts of ourselves that we call 'bad'. This is a very special dedication to the bad, to the unpalatable and the unsavory, to the perverse and the weird and the strange. This is a dedication to the erotic, and the darkness, and an ancestral reclamation of these powerful forces. For thousands of years they have been misund

F*CK PERFECTION
Send us Fan MailI am imperfect. You are imperfect. We will never be perfect. While calling someone or something imperfect is often seen as an insult, in this episode I explore how embracing this fundamental truth can be deeply freeing. If I am not perfect, and nothing I ever create will be perfect, how can I allow myself to exhale? To release myself from the bonds of perfectionism and to embrace b

re-sensitizing the body
Send us Fan MailHello, dear listener. Thank you for joining me for today's listening session! This one is unscripted, straight from my heart and mouth to your ears. I talk about how we become desensitized to our

embodying the future
Send us Fan MailI'm dreaming of a different world, and if you're here - you are too! I'm dreaming of a world where the purpose of being alive is to simply embody ourselves more fully - not to grind under capitalism, or try to survive under a power-over system of multiple oppressions. I'm dreaming of a world in which we are truly free - free to be who we are and to offer our uni

the gospel of pleasure
Send us Fan MailIn this week's episode, we take a moment to settle in, get embodied (whatever that means to you, and however that feels good!) to explore one of my favourite expansive universal forces - pleasure! on pussies, boundaries, and finding our yes and no
Send us Fan MailThis was a fun episode to create. I speak about pussies (and how pussies are beyond gender!), boundaries, and honouring our authentic YES and NO. But, in true human becoming fashion there are stories of vulvodynia and vaginismus, being a chronic yes man, gender socialization, facing disappointment - both our own, and other people's - and so much more weaved throughout! interlude: how things turned out to be okay
Send us Fan MailHello! Long time no see. This is a bonus episode, an interlude between season one and season two. healing with anger
Send us Fan MailIn this week's episode, we will honour and praise anger, an emotion that can be hugely transformative when it is deeply understood. Send us Fan MailIn this episode, I will be speaking about the body and how vital it is in our healing and journey of becoming human. From the shame that arises from our gender socialization, to sex and boundary crossings, to contemplating the nature of my suffering through my de

embodied practice: connecting with the gifts of the ancestors
Send us Fan MailThis is our first embodied practice. It is an opportunity to deepen the learnings from 'an ode to the ancestors'. This is an optional practice, but I highly recommend it. It is a guided meditation designed by Joanna Macy, an environmental activist, author and Buddhist scholar, that has been adapted slightly by my mother for her work, and now adapted by me for you!
